I saw this cabinet on Manor Lane Terrace on my way home from work tonight – the door’s completely missing.  I’ll report it to Virgin Media on their 0870 888 3116 number.

This is the third cabinet I’ve reported in the last few weeks - the others were on Michedever Road and Trinity Close.  If you have a cabinet near you in need of attention, do let Virgin Media (or me!) know.

Just to prove that my grouse about junction boxes isn’t just aimed at Virgin Media, I thought I’d post to say I’ve reported a damaged BT one on Dorville Road.  This one looks like a car’s gone into it.

BT (or ‘Openreach‘ as that bit of them style themselves  these days) have agreed to have it inspected and repaired, so watch that space…

UPDATE 8/3/09 – went past today, and BT have replaced the entire box.  Unfortunately, the Virgin Media box almost opposite has lost its door again, so I’ll be reporting that to them.

Virgin Media have been in touch, and they have taken action on my concerns about junction boxes in Lee Green.

• This box on Kellerton Road has now been closed and locked.
• This box on Dorville Road has been temporarily secured, pending the fitting of a new door.
• This box on Lee High Road has now been closed and locked.

And finally, the box on Staplehurst Road at the junction with Leahurst Road (outside the DIY shop) has been locked, but will need replacing altogether as it’s been hit by a car.

I’ll be calling to report the damaged box on the right, which is on Eastdown Park.  If you know of a box do let Virgin Media know – or failing that, let me know and I’ll take it up.
