Black History Month at the Manor House

From 2006 to 2010, I was a councillor for Lee Green ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. During that time, I blogged regularly and in 2009 I won the Tim Garden Award for the Best Blog by a Liberal Democrat Holding Public Office. My blog posts from my term of office are archived here in case they prove of use to former constituents, or to those who share my annoyance with faulty street furniture

There’s a series of events at the Manor House to mark Black History Month, including a themed month of Saturday Matinee film showings:

All the above film showings start at 3.30pm in the AV Room (meeting room 1).  They’re absolutely free – book a seat by calling the library on 8852 0357.

More details of other Black History Month events in Lewisham can be found on the Council website at www.lewisham.gov.uk/blackhistorymonth

Finally, on Saturday October 24th, the Library is hosting a historical lecture with eminent historian S.I.Martin who’ll be giving an illuminating protrait of the black history of Lee and Blackheath with a particular focus on the Manor House itself.  That event’s at 3pm until 4, in the Baring Room.  Again, please book a seat by calling the library on 8852 0357.
