From 2006 to 2010, I was a councillor for Lee Green ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. During that time, I blogged regularly and in 2009 I won the Tim Garden Award for the Best Blog by a Liberal Democrat Holding Public Office. My blog posts from my term of office are archived here in case they prove of use to former constituents, or to those who share my annoyance with faulty street furniture
Manor House Library is launching a film club, with a Saturday Matinee for adults at 3.30pm in the AV Room on the first floor. The great news is it’s absolutely free – you just need to book a seat.
It starts this Saturday with Slumdog Millionaire. Full list for July below:
- Saturday 11th July – Slumdog Millionaire (12)
- Saturday 18th July – The Kite Runner (15)
- Saturday 25th July – Life is Beautiful (PG)
I really hope this iniative succeeds – one of the most frustrating things about living in Lewisham is the borough’s lack of a cinema, and it’s good to see the staff at the library stepping in to fill the gap in Lee Green at least.
To book a place, call in at the library or call 8852 0357.
