From 2006 to 2010, I was a councillor for Lee Green ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. During that time, I blogged regularly and in 2009 I won the Tim Garden Award for the Best Blog by a Liberal Democrat Holding Public Office. My blog posts from my term of office are archived here in case they prove of use to former constituents, or to those who share my annoyance with faulty street furniture
Transport for London have been in touch to let us know that they’ll be doing some work on Eltham Road. The stretch affected is just outside Lee Green ward, running from the junction with Cambridge Drive up to Weigall Road.
The plan is to introduce two new pedestrian refuges on this stretch of the A20. The work will involve road widening and making improvements for cyclists and other road users.
The work’s due to start on Thursday and the first stage will last two weeks, with work taking place between 10am and 3.30pm to try and reduce disruption. The next phase will run from 15th June until 30th September. These are apparently advance works, and TfL have promised to provide more details of the main works nearer the time.
If you experience any problems or need more info, you can call TfL customer services on 0845 305 1234.
