Supermarket Shakespeare

From 2006 to 2010, I was a councillor for Lee Green ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. During that time, I blogged regularly and in 2009 I won the Tim Garden Award for the Best Blog by a Liberal Democrat Holding Public Office. My blog posts from my term of office are archived here in case they prove of use to former constituents, or to those who share my annoyance with faulty street furniture

Supermarket ShakespeareSupermarket ShakespeareYou might have heard that Teatro Vivo, who have previously put on performances in Manor House Gardens, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers and in the Manor House itself, are now bringing Shakespeare to our local Sainsbury’s…

There are free performances instore at the following times:

  •  Saturday at 12noon and 6pm,
  • Sunday at 12pm and 3pm
  • Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week at 7pm.

I must admit, the prospect of Hamlet in the ham aisle, The Tempest  amongst the tea bags or even Julius Caesar amongst the salads intrigues me and I’ll definitely be wandering up to Sainsbury’s to take in at least one of the performances.  But to shop or not to shop – that is the question!

So why not try something new today this weekend?
