Save our NHS…

From 2006 to 2010, I was a councillor for Lee Green ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. During that time, I blogged regularly and in 2009 I won the Tim Garden Award for the Best Blog by a Liberal Democrat Holding Public Office. My blog posts from my term of office are archived here in case they prove of use to former constituents, or to those who share my annoyance with faulty street furniture

We only have until the end of next week to respond – you can do this online here or by filling in the questionnaire you should have had delivered to your home a few weeks ago.  I’ll be writing to oppose all the options – cuts at Lewisham Hospital aren’t acceptable, and these proposals are designed to plug a PFI funding gap at Woolwich and Farnborough – not to improve healthcare in Lewisham.

There was a protest march on Saturday from Blackheath to Lewisham Hospital and I was delighted to be joined by Brian Paddick, Sven, Chris Maines, and many other Lib Dems to oppose these cuts (see pic).   If you feel as strongly as we do, then please, please, please make sure you respond to the consultation!
