From 2006 to 2010, I was a councillor for Lee Green ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. During that time, I blogged regularly and in 2009 I won the Tim Garden Award for the Best Blog by a Liberal Democrat Holding Public Office. My blog posts from my term of office are archived here in case they prove of use to former constituents, or to those who share my annoyance with faulty street furniture
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was backing the Connect2 project in their quest to win £50 million of lottery funding for improvements to walking and cycling routes.
I’m delighted to say that Connect2 won – and will start to spend the £50 million in the new year – including on this project which will benefit south east London.
Great news – and thanks to everyone who voted. More at the BBC site here.
